1. What the extension does
1688CMP is a free Chrome extension that runs only on 1688.com product pages. When you visit a product page, the extension reads the offer ID from the URL, queries our open list of 7 sourcing agents (BuckyDrop, CSSBuy, Superbuy, Supplyia, Oopbuy, Loongbuy, Lovegobuy), and shows a small floating bar with each agent's price, service fee, and shipping estimate for that product. Clicking an agent opens that agent's website in a new tab with our affiliate referral parameter (aff=1688cmp). The extension never opens the agent page itself — it only opens the listing page that corresponds to the same 1688 offer ID, when supported.
2. Data we collect
We collect nothing. The extension does not send your browsing history, the product you are viewing, your IP address, or any personal information to any server operated by us. The list of 7 agents and their commission rates is bundled inside the extension itself as a static JSON file — there is no backend call to look up prices, fees, or affiliate IDs. Affiliate clicks are tracked by the destination agent using the aff=1688cmp parameter in the URL, not by us. Chrome itself may report extension installation, removal, and update events to its own store; that data lives at Google, not us.
3. Local storage
The extension stores a small set of preferences in Chrome's local storage: which agents are enabled (default: all 7 on), your preferred language for the floating bar (default: follows your browser), whether the extension is enabled at all (default: on), and your manually-selected ranking preference. Nothing in local storage leaves your browser. There is no IndexedDB, no cookies, no remote sync. You can clear everything at any time from chrome://extensions → 1688CMP → Storage → Clear data. Clearing local storage does not affect any data the destination agents have already collected about you on their own sites.
4. Third-party sites
When you click an agent in the floating bar you leave 1688.com and visit one of the 7 supported sites: buckydrop.com, cssbuy.com, superbuy.com, supplyia.com, oopbuy.com, loongbuy.com, or lovegobuy.com. Each of those sites has its own privacy policy, its own cookies, and its own analytics stack. We do not control their data practices. Before placing an order, we recommend reading the destination agent's terms and privacy page; 1688 (Alibaba Group) itself also collects data on its product pages, which the extension does not read or transmit.
5. Affiliate disclosure
1688CMP earns a commission when you click an agent link and complete a purchase on that agent's site. This does not change the price you pay, and the commission rate does not bias our ranking — we sort by what the agent offers for that product (fee %, free storage days, consolidation fee, payment processing surcharge), not by how much we earn. We only list agents with a public, active affiliate or referral agreement. The aff=1688cmp parameter in each URL is what tells the destination agent you came from us; we do not maintain a parallel click log. This disclosure is made in the interest of transparency, in line with FTC endorsement guides (16 CFR Part 255) and equivalent rules elsewhere.
6. Children's privacy
The extension is not directed at children under 13 (or under the relevant age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since we collect nothing at all, this is in practice a moot point — but the law requires us to say it. If you believe a child under that age has somehow submitted information via a destination agent after clicking out from 1688CMP, please contact the relevant agent directly.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy — for example, to add a backend analytics service or to start collecting an opt-in metric — we will update this page and bump the lastUpdated date, and we will note the change in the extension's changelog on the Chrome Web Store listing. The extension will not begin collecting any new data until you explicitly opt in to it; defaults will remain "off" rather than "on" for any new permission. We will not retroactively claim a license to data that was collected under older, looser terms.
